Coronavirus / COVID-19
See this post for a list of Grand Lodge positions, which are evolving rapidly. Ongoing discussion is occurring within the Craft on how best to handle all of this, with various mixed opinions. Chris Hodapp’s blog recommends that Masons read, write, and work on internal improvement during the panic.
That’s all for this week as there is so much happening elsewhere on this topic.
The Problem with Banning Politics and Religion
The Millennial Freemason posted an article on the problem with banning politics and religion in lodge, discussing these issues and connecting them to individual mental practices for brothers, and the need to utilize the trivium to address our shortcomings:
We have a general illiteracy of mind which is only further weakened by an inability or a willful ignorance to try and understand better. This “try” is an action–an exercise which without its use atrophies our minds and the consequence is a blank slate by which politically charged media may imprint their own version of events.

Health Benefits of Ritual
In his article on this topic, Martin Faulks discusses how masonic ritual practice improves recall and promotes youth, citing various research papers.
Those old Past Masters were right, Masonic ritual is good for the memory and can keep you young. So now we have to ask ourselves. What else are they saying that we really should be listening to?

The Masonic Legacy Society
The Masonic Legacy Society was launched by John Fetzer. Their key statement:
Freemasons everywhere are transforming themselves, their lodges, and their communities with greater wisdom, strength, and beauty. To deepen one’s awareness of and experience with the practice of Freemasonry this framework and process has been provided for Masonic reflection, introspection, and personal application. This document is freely distributed as a call to action: to pique interests and curiosity among potential candidates, seekers, inquirers, as a self-study guide for Masons, and as a guide for Masonic facilitators/mentors.
